Italian IT Security Innovator Sponsors Greece's Leading IT Security Conference
PISA, Italy December 14, 2011
IT security and teaching leader eLearnSecurity today announced their sponsorship of the 2012 AthCon IT security conference, to be held in Kifisia, Athens, Greece from May 3-4, 2012.
AthCon is an annual, European two-day conference that focuses on IT security issues such as attacking techniques of exploitation and various forms of penetration testing, which have become valuable to companies of all sizes seeking to mitigate the liabilities of having their company and customer accounts compromised. The conference focuses on practical, technical approaches to the ever-evolving threats to IT security and features presentations by top international security experts.
AthCon was founded in 2009 by Cyberdefend Limited with the aim of creating the first advanced security conference in Hellenic IT Security Sector. The conference is the brainchild of veteran security professionals Kyprianos Vasilopoulos and Christian Papathanasiou. This is the first year that eLearnSecurity is participating as a sponsor. As part of this role, eLearnSecurity is sponsoring an application security challenge for prospective attendees. Entrants can solve and document a network security problem in eLearnSecurity's hands-on Coliseum Lab training platform and be eligible to win a free pass to the conference.
"We're excited to support AthCon's mission of advancing readily applicable IT security practice to more European professionals," said Armando Romeo, eLearnSecurity founder and CEO. "Sharing and advancing knowledge is how we help the companies and organizations we serve protect their systems and data from expensive and dangerous breaches by hackers. It's on our list of 'can't miss' events."
